But that's exactly what they do with non-linear grading thingies, didn't you know?

Thanks for that Si. I see they use the Diamant DustBuster for their cleaning up. Sounds like I could do with that for my flat!

Apparently none of the extras on the recent DVD are coming over to the Blu Ray edition. It's all new extras:
    A DANDY AND A CLOWN - THE LIFE OF JON PERTWEE - 42m 25s
CARRY ON - THE LIFE OF CAROLINE JOHN - 29m 7s
SPEARHEAD FROM SPACE - HD RESTORATION 2m 11s
DOCTOR WHO (1969 JON PERTWEE TITLE ELEMENTS) 22m 35s
(these are the first bits passed by the BBFC this week)

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

The Five Doctor's was my first ever DVD purchase, this may well be my first ever Blu-Ray purchase.

    I love that vid.

They'll come in very useful on the planet Delphon 2, where they communicate with their eyes.

Australian Ratings Boxes ruin EVERY design. Dumb gigantic colour coded nonsense!

    Humph!

Looking forward to the release though- I thought DWM had confirmed it came with the DVD extras too?

    Oooh, coconut macaroons!

No, the DVD extras aren't being ported over apparently.

The Third Doctor in High Definition, for the First Time, for the Last Time

    Also - Yay no roundels!

We'll get this and be £13.99p lighter and it will go on the shelf and the old(er) one will go in the charity shop pile and we'll watch it and it will look absolutely no different and oh what's the point? Spearhead on Blu-ray makes me hate our rich, selfish, Western civilisation.

I don't quite understand why people are so upset about this. I know it's about the 5th time Spearhead From Space has been released in one form or another, but as the only HD old series story, it's a nice enough novelty.

We can't get rid of the DVD version as the Blu-Ray won't fit in with the rest of the range...

For m'self, I've only ever had the old 'feature-length' video version (and that was pretty ropey) and have some how managed to always miss it on its various TV showings... so on the basis of not having watched Spearhead in probably 15 years (could be longer) I'm really rather looking forward to a late birthday present with this one.

"How terribly exciting" to coin a phrase... )

Look, is it just me or should HD really stand for HIGHER Definition, since the BBC launched the world's first HIGH Definition television service in 1936? So it's not The Third Doctor in High Definition for the first time ever is it?

I am looking forward to seeing this Blu-Ray one day, though.
