    Default The 1000th Episode

    789 individual episodes of Doctor Who have been broadcast on tv between November 1963 and September 2012.

    How long do you think it will take for Doctor Who to reach its landmark 1000th episode? In which year do you think it will be broadcast?

    The BBC will go mad after the anniversary and we'll get episode 1,000 in 2014. Matt Smith will retire from playing the Doctor and acting in general after having a heart attack at the age of 32.

    Big Finish will also reach 1,000 episodes in 2014.
    Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

    Michael Grade will return to the BBC just after Christmas, and the series will be cancelled once the anniversary episode goes out.

    You would need to add another hundred episodes.

    8 x 14 = 112.

    789 + 112 = 901.

    The difference between 789 and 1000 is 211. 14 x 15 = 210, although the 1 left over could be included as the forthcoming special.

    So if there were to be fourteen episodes a year for the next fifteen years, it would reach the 1000th episode in 2027.
