I couldn't possibly comment...

People are taking today's DVD/Blu Ray press release as confirmation that the missing episodes will only be represented by the cutdown recons.
While I'm waiting for official confirmation, and despite my gripes with the Reign of Terror animation, if the sceptics are right, I will be terribly disappointed.

The part-missing stories they've pledged to release are all pretty dull, and there's no reason why those have to be the ones they animate. I would be more than happy with this if they are doing something like The Macra Terror or even Power of the Daleks instead. That said, the quality would have to be improved to support an animation only dvd, judging by Reign.

I'd say that the animation is being prepared, but in the event that something goes wrong, it hasn't been announced to avoid disappointment.
Alternately, there was a lot of vitriol about Dan Hall's previous decisions on recons and animations on Gallifrey Base, DWO et al. He may be just keeping any big announcements quiet now to avoid months of "It's going to be awful because Dan Hall commissioned it."
Oooh, coconut macaroons!

Maybe they have done it in the style of Reign, with a view to pulling it in the unlikely event that the fans all declare the Reign results awful.
Oh dear.

Stop everything! Old Steve Roberts says he thinks fans will be "very happy" with this DVD when it comes out. I think we may be getting animation yet.

Making a prediction that Doctor Who fans will be very happy.... A brave man indeed!

Or very foolish. Bearing in mind that it could just as easily mean - well not the episodes in animated form shall we say? and that may not happen either.

The episodes have been remounted with Matt Smith, plus Daniel Anthony and Anjli Mohindra as Jamie and Victoria.

This looks really good. I'm so glad it's animated; it would have been a mistake and a backwards step to expect us to be happy with links at this stage.
I look forward to this greatly and, who knows, one day they might even get to animate a decent story. If they can do two episodes of Reign, one of Tenth Planet and two of Ice, surely they can run to three Celestial Toymakers or four of The Macra Terror?

Well there was a mention of four more years of releases at Gally. They can't all be special editions and blu ray reissues surely?

Wanna bet?
All we want is for this one to go down well in order for them to consider complete stories.

Interesting to see they;re being done by a different company in a different style to The Reign of Terror. This one seemed simpler but effective. Could be good.

It did seem to be slightly more like The Invasion.

Oh, that looks much better than Reign of Terror. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the episodes if the animation is that good throughout.
Was it just me who thought it looked like Clent was going in for a kiss as he started to walk off?
