It's a BBC repeat version from the 70s, like the Planet of the Spiders one.

Is that what was released on VHS in the 80s?

No, that was around 90 - 95 minutes.

    Love and War?

Didn't Big Finish beat them to the punch on that one?
For every fail, there is an equal and opposite win.

    ...Oh, who am I kidding?

I really like this story too.

However, I wish they wouldn't keep re-releasing stories that are already out there. I'm not made of money and wouldn't normally want to buy a story more than once. Of course now that the new release is no doubt going to be much better than the initial one I will feel as though I'm missing out if I don't buy it.

I guess they hadn't thought of doing these movie version special releases in the early days - I wish they had!

Don't get me wrong the DVD itself looks great; if I hadn't already got a DVD copy of the story on my shelf I would be very excited about this. Instead I've got the dillema of whether to buy it again (and perhaps try and sell the original one) or do I just keep the one I have?

Oh well, I guess we will all have to buy the entire set again in a few years when they come out in holographic format or something!

I can't recall off the top of my head but did Fenric come out before the original Ark in Space DVD?

Because the Fenric DVD has both episodic & movie versions on, and it works rather well as a movie, IMO.

After. Ark was in 2002 and Fenric in 2003.

I've pre-ordered this from Play.com who gave a release date of 18th Feb. Just got an e-mail to say it's been put back a week to the 25th. Amazon however say it's not coming till 8th April. Has something else been shoehorned in I wonder?

    00:07:33:05 (SCENE AROUND SIX)
For something with such an innocuous title, this extra was an absolute gem. There's around 10 minutes of footage of Tom Baker visiting Belfast, greeting children, going to schools and donning the mayor with his famous scarf and hat. There's no narration, but the film quality is superb and the delight on Tom's face as the crowds greet him is simply wonderful.

The 'Love and War' feature on the wilderness years books was brilliant as well, with pundits as happy to praise the New Adventures as they were to bury them. Gary Russell, RTD, Paul Cornell and others give some nice insights into both the BBC Books and the NAs range. And Spiral Scratch warrants a mention too! Oh and Mark Gatiss needs to do a talking book version of Nightshade.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I really liked the Love and War feature but felt they could've spent a little longer on the BBC books range considering they ran for 9 years as opposed to Virgin's 7 years.
