I think it's all a load of bollocks. In this months DWM Moffatt says "The Scripts are coming in...". How could you have people writing scripts if you haven't even cast the lead? If he's young/old, his character etc. would guide how the character was written.
I'm sure he's cast!

I agree Si. I reckon he was cast ages ago. I'm sure Moffat will try to do something different with the regeneration as well.

As long as it's not another wretched gold fire out the hands job. We've had that to death.

But isn't that the new way a regen. is done now? Even River did it that way.

I wonder if it could be a sort of combined regeneration with both Smith and Hurt regenerating at the same time into a single new body? Of course that wouldn't fit in with (expected) continuity because Hurt would be expected to regenerate into Eccleston...but with Moffat and his 'Timey-Wimey' approach, nothing would surprise me!

Well,
All the publicity for Peter Capaldi has him as the 12th Doctor.Assume you're going to Win

12th Doctor, but apparently 13th life and thus fast approaching the end of his regeneration cycle. It's hard to see the Moff not wanting to address that little problem at some point before he moves on...of course I'm talking nonsense but until we see exactly where Hurt is going to fit in the big picture, who knows?

So it would! It's obvious now that you mention it...I don't know why I didn't think of that, Paul!
Possibly Hurt (or maybe just some of his 'regeneration energy' or whatever it's called) could merge with Smith in a way similar to how the Watcher merged into the Fourth Doctor's dying body at the end of Logopolis and maybe the paradox of Hurt's Doctor regenerating twice could kick off a new regeneration cycle...or something!

Looking at Borusa as an example of regenration, it doesn't seem to follow that the next version always gets younger.

The Doctor himself got older twice in the 80's...

The only thing I'm objected to is... it's going to take ages to see him in action!
(Yeah, I really don't do objections these days...)

Do you think maybe they've rescheduled in line with Capaldi's availability? I don't know when The Name of the Doctor finished recording, but I have a feeling it was late last year wasn't it? In which case they'll only have actually made two episodes this year - the Anniversary one & the Christmas special. I hate to be an old moaner, but I would hope that given that rather luxurious schedule, the two episodes to come this year had better be bloomin' good!!!

I hope it's better than Karen Gillen's wig last year.

I hope he tries on lots of wigs in a hirsute homage to Time and The Rani.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!
