Frank Thornton has died

RIP Captain Peacock. As you all know, AYBS is one of my favorite sitcoms, so this is sad news (although he lived to a ripe old age).

My fave Capt Peacock line is when he's judging a beauty contest at Grace Brothers. Mrs Slocombe is a contestant.

"Would you tell us your name and which planet you're from" says Captain Peacock. Still makes me smile now

That is sad news but he did, as you say, make it to a ripe old age; 92 isn't bad going.

His 2 roles that I remember him in is Capt. Peacock in Are You Being Served & 'Truly' Truelove in Last of the Summer Wine.


I also remember him in The Taming of the Shrew from about 1980 also staring John Cleese.
