About Time 7
Coming 10th September!
This volume will cover the first two years of the new series. About Time Vol. 7 continues an examination of the real-world social-political context in which each Doctor Who story was made, this time focusing on Series 1 and 2 of the revamped series (2005 to 2006) starring Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant. Essays in this volume include: Why Now? Why Wales?; RT Phone Home?; Is the New Series More Xenophobic?; Why is Trinity Wells on Jackie's Telly?; He Remembers This How?; What's Happened to the Daleks?; Why Doesn't Anyone Read Any More?; Reapers - Err, What?; What's So Great About the 51st Century?; Gay Agenda? What Gay Agenda?; Does Being Made in Wales Matter?; Did He Fall or Was He Pushed?; Bad Wolf - What, How and Why?: What's a 'Story' Now?; How Long is Harriet in No. 10?; Has All the Puff 'Totally' Changed Things?; Stunt Casting: What Are the Dos and the Dont's?; The Great Powell Estate Debate; Is Arthur the Horse a Companion?; Are Credited Authors Just Hired Hands?; How Many Cyber-Races Are There?; and more.

It's about time too! (Technically About Time 7, but yeah you know what I mean).
The small but dedicated hardcore fandom of these books - people who don't mind the occassional innaccuracy such as a mis-spelled name or whatever - are going to love this! We've already heard Lawrence Miles' miserable ramblings about the series.Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I can't wait. I love thee books, especially his essays, which are always thought provoking (even if I don't always agree with him!)

About Time - The New Series
Oh look what's out on September 10th!
Tat Wood's endless ramblings about the first 26 years of Doctor Who were endlessly entertaining - or at least I thought so. A lot of people pointed out the odd factual error that cropped up in these texts, but that's like picking out a handful of water in the tidal wave of facts that deluge the reader on every subject under the sun.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting a chance to read this eventually! Tat seems to be rather more sanguine towards the new series than his ex-co-writer, Lawrence Miles and I expect this to be fascinating.Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

And the even better news is that it arrived today. Very much looking forward to Tat's thoughts on the series.
