    Default DWM Special: The Daleks

Anyone getting this? Aside from the dull subject matter, it's £9.99p! Isn't that like twice normal price?? For the first time ever seriously wondering if we need this!

Depends what's in it and stuff. I might pop into town and see if I can find one to look at tomorrow.

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

But Si! It's the Daleks. The most vicious race of ruthless, evil beings ever created by their vicious, evil ruthless creator - Davros.

With their battle-cry of 'Exterminate!' (Translates to 'Mind out I'm about to fire my gun!') they have conquered world after world without mercy or pity, or pity. Many worlds have become allies simply through their fear of the Daleks. And out of their evilm something good must come.

Plus it'll be a bumper edition I hope, so £9.99 doesn't seem that unreasonable?

£10 used to get you a VHS video, DWM, four action figures and change for a bag of chips when I was a boy.

That's rubbish, they were all £9.99 until The Three Doctors broke the £10 barrier at £11.99.

Where would you crisp tenner have got you then, Si? Walking out of the shop with a disappointed look on your face, that's where.

I seem to recall City of Death being the first video released after the change in VAT and it was priced at an odd £10.27 or something.

As for this special, well it will have to be something really, ahem, special to warrant buying it.

"Dear DWM, please could you print a picture of a Dalek as my friend and I have never seen one. We've heard about them, I understand they were on the show quite recently but we're fairly new fans and haven't seen them properly yet.

Either that or a picture of Clara - phwoar!

    Yours sincerely,

    Planet Skaro."

Unless that £11.99 VHS was Time Flight. No disappointment then.

Does anyone have any idea if this is included in current subscriptions that include special issues? I'm assuming not but would be helpful to know either way!

Are space dollar pounds like Narg notes then?

Well I managed to buy the telesnaps special. It was a brilliant read and I'm glad I've shown an economic interest for making a second special.
Not sure I can show much of an economic interest for this special though. It would have to have some serious whistles and bangs.
I am expecting to always see it on the stands for months though!

Yup, and then suddenly cost five times as much on EBay!

Hoorah - finally bought a copy of this. They've been harder to get hold of here in South-West London than Willy Wonka's Golden Tickets!

It's not bad - there's lots of filler, but there are some quite nice articles about Terry Nation and an interview with Graeme Harper.

    It's not £9.99 worth though.
