It's been a while since we did this, so here we go with another run of classic covers from years gone by...you'll have seen most of these titles before so I'll just try to showcase different issues and not repeat covers already used.
We'll kick this season off with a 1977 Carlos Ezquerra cover for Marvel's attempt at a war comic, Fury. This series had some brilliant covers, too bad the contents weren't of the same standard or they may have had a hit on their hands...

Great cover. Although really, if a place was called Massacre Mountain, would you really want to visit...?

Another cover from Carlos Ezquerra today, coincidentally from 1977 again, this time the first cover appearance of Judge Dredd in 2000AD #10. I always remember this particular cover because of the name of the robot...

How bizarre to have a Land of The Giants and not set it on Earth!
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Looks like we watched the 60's BATMAN movie inadvertently to celebrate this. What a hoot that was!

Sticking with DC for the moment, today we have the first issue of what was planned to be an ongoing series from 1975 but for some unknown reason (rights reasons, presumably) was curtailed after only the single issue...

Today we have the issue of the controversial weekly Action from October 1976 which was withdrawn from sale a few days after it's release. Pressure had been mounting on publishers IPC regarding the violent content of the comic, which many thought was unsuitable for kids. It was a threatened boycott of other titles which eventually forced them to put the comic on hold, before allowing it to return in a much-watered down format after a gap of 6 weeks.

That plotline was also touched on in Spider-Man 2! That guy is always hanging up his web-shooters (unless they're part of his body). Great cover, though it does make you wonder if there will be another issue next week.

Batman Monthly #8...from February 1988, todays cover is one of that rare breed of British DC reprints. Although DC have attempted to break into the British market from time to time, they have surprisingly only had a limited amount of success compared to Marvel, who have consistently had UK titles of some sort on the shelves since 1972.
