    Default Brian Cant 80 Today!

    Here's a voice we're all familiar with.

Happy 80th Birthday to Brian Cant!

So which is better - Chigley, Camberwick Green or The Dominators?

Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

He was the voice of my childhood, along with Arthur Lowe and Oliver Postgate- a true hero of Children's TV in the 60s, 70s and 80s! Happy Birthday Brian!

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Sadly Brian has Parkinson's Disease, which is horribly debilitating and nasty. If you're so inclined, you can donate to Parkinson's UK, on this Just Giving page that has been set up by his son to do something good for a man who inspired so many during his life so far.

I totally agree with you there, he was ever present in my childhood from Trumpton, Camberwick Green, & Chigley to Play School & Play Away.
    Happy Birthday, Brian.

The Just Giving page has raised nearly £2000 today. Wow!

Here he is receiving his honorary Bafta in 2010 (from 10 minutes in)

What does it say about modern TV that the funniest thing I've seen in years is a speech given by an octegenarian "shaky old fart"? They've stopped making them like Brian, which is a terrible shame.
