'Inappropriate' scene cut from 'Doctor Who'

An "inappropriate" underwater scene was cut from an episode of Doctor Who, David Tennant has revealed.

Actress Freema Agyeman, as loyal assistant Martha Jones, apparently stripped down to her underwear for the piece. The footage will never be seen however, thanks to producers who decided it should be cut.

"There was an underwater scene in a draft of the new series but we nixed it out," explained Tennant. "It was bordering on inappropriate. You can't have shagging in the Tardis."

I'm gutted... even if it never made it off the page.

So, was the footage actually shot, or, if Tennant's, er, 'quote' is anything to go by, was the scene simply in a draft script? I'm confused. And where does the 'shagging' come into it!?!?
