Default Complete Series 1-7 on Blu-Ray

So, this is finally happening. Series 1 deleted scenes, perhaps?

And it comes with a sonic. Given the nature of the gadget, I expect it to be able to project the Blu-Rays onto a screen just by pointing it at a relevant box set.

AND will the old series be 'Upscaled' to HD? Is such a thing even possible?
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

When's this out? Wondering if it might be worth getting instead of Series 7 if it has more extras, we could get rid of that awful one with the big puffy Silent head that leaves a gap between blu rays on the shelf then.

No UK release date yet, but I gather it IS coming to the UK.

The really odd thing is that it's definitely 1080p. The exisiting Blu Rays are all 1080i, and 1080i is preferred in PAL markets (1080p is preferred in America). Countries freely mix both (and it's hard to tell the difference for most people), but 1080i is generally seen as superior as the frames are interlaced instead of progressive (thus providing smoother framerate).

ETA. Oooh- apparently 1080p compression/encoding takes up less space than 1080i, which explains why, if you look at the spines in the picture, each season is on 3-4 discs!

I'd like to have the whole series on blu ray, but I'm not going to pay that much or go through the whole trouble of selling what I already have to pay for it.

It looks like a nice set though.
