Well, I was brave, and watched Do You Have A Licence To Save This Planet? - a curious little production from BBV. Only thirty minutes long, it's a self-parody in many ways, poking fun at the fact that Bill Baggs can never get good licences, so is stuck with the Krynoids, Autons, Sontarans and Cyberons, and passing off Sylv and Sophie as 'The Professor and Ace' - how the hell did the Beeb not sue him? Sylvester McCoy starts as the Foot Doctor (poor jokes there), with some big chap who I believe has done a few BF audios. It's all a little cluttered and silly, but there were a couple of moments that brought a smile to the face, such as McCoy's re-enactment of his regeneration scene, after which he breaks into a sob, saying "The other two are at a convention in Barbados," he cries. "The b******s!". There's also a good bit with a Master-ey character, in which his campness during his scenes is turned up via an imaginary remote control. And yay for the Cyberon hand-crushing as they say "Excellent!". Again, how they got away with it is beyond me...
It wasn't great, but it's hard not to like the actors/makers for their sheer enthusiasm.

I just read this post elsewhere about the latest BBV spin-off called 'Zygon' -
well, ive just bought zygon and overall it was pretty impressive, some good acting in there and quite a bit of fun had with the concept. and despite torchwood being all "sexy" this is the first time (abducted by the daleks not included) that the whoniverse has done soft core, and it manages it rather well. the main problem is the truly terrible effects work, even compared to other spin off efforts this is poor. but they clearly put lots of effort in and its much more enjoyable than daemos rising. personally id like them to do a few more, but i reckon the new series might have ended thatLast edited by Wayne; 19th Mar 2008 at 12:26 AM.

I thought that they hadn't really adapted their style to take into account the success of the new series. To me, it felt a lot like their stories of old, especially Cyberon, though that may have been because the lead character is in both.

I notice Wayne left the adult section off the list.
