What are your thoughts on the last story of Season 25?

It's the one that got away. Overshadowed by the Daleks, "Bertie Bassett" and the Cybermen, the Season comes to a great finish with a dark tale of a Circus stuck on a planet.
Brilliant guest star performances. Lots of tension. I fell back in love with it on DVD.

Yay.
One of my favorite episodes :-)
A bit weird in places (and you could say that about other McCoy stories ;-) ) but there's always something mysterious about circuses and what goes on out the back.
Back at Uni a mate of mine wanted to get some t-shirts printed with the message:
Dr Who: The Greatest Show in the Galaxy
on the frontAssume you're going to Win
Always have an Edge

It's a story I love, even though I'm still not sure I 100% understand it. The buried robot is a bit odd, but it's got such an extraordinary atmosphere. Alan Waring's direction fits Mark Ayres music so, so well, and there are some great performances on show.
The climax, with the Doctor 'entertaining' the Gods could have been really naff, but somehow McCoy really makes it work - and that last bit ("it starts with a piece of metal") is so good. And then there's all the great 'moments' - the explosion at the end, the Chief Clown, Bellboy's suicide, the bus conductor...
One of my faves, from start to finish.

I really should watch this again soon, it's been so long since I last watch it. Over a decade I believe.

For me, a rare highlight of the McCoy era. Bizarre and dramatic at the same time, and the series can at this point still encourage great names like TP McKenna, Christopher Guard and Peggy Mount to give worthy performances.

The worst story of the shows long run for me. I found it woeful, and repeat viewinh hasn't improved my opinion of it.

I'm sort of with Paul on this but find it the worst of this season and I also haven't found it to improve on repeat viewings.
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?
