Another one of those iconic monsters in London shots today:

Have you ever wondered what's inside a Dalek? Well all was revealed in the very first Doctor Who book in 1964- The Dalek Book:

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

This is clearly the anatomy of a Rolykin Dalek.

Oh! To have the Rolykins Daleks back in the new series! Wouldn't that be wonderful? The slightest slope and they'd all roll into a corner. It might even have made the Parliament of The Daleks (yawn) interesting.

And there we all were, thinking there was a man inside them! or at least Ian Levine... Yes, Ian Levine inside a Dalek - that's how he managed to save them!

    I'll get me coat...

It's Flanagan and Allan and Davison and Baker! All we need now are Sylvester and Nosmo King and we'll have the entire Crazy Gang! (Let's see who gets that one!)

What I like about that picture, in an odd way, is that none of them are 'in character' at all (or at least not in the character as they actually played it) and in fact it looks more like some kind of title sequence to an early 70s sitcom.

"And now on BBC, it's time for more laughs with 'Him, Her, And Who'..."

I wonder where Bessie's fuel cap is? (or whatever that thing on the front is)

Today's Who Pic is the artwork cover of one of my favourite Doctor Who books ever- 1988's The Cybermen. Wonderful painting by Andrew Skilleter.

There was so much lovely new artwork in that Cybermen book. It's one of my favourite reference books, probably the pinnacle of the Haining-style 80's / 90's books.

It was and is a beautiful book. I love the schemiatics of the Cyber-types, the big glossy comic book style history of the Cybermen and all the lovely, lovely pictures within.

The 'Look and Learn' style History of the Cybermen pages are just beautiful, really a labour of love I think.

In honour of An Adventure in Space and Time tonight, today we have a piece of fabulous artwork by Farmageddon, who does many great graphics for the DVD range.

I'm sure the backdrop used to look like an alien planet. Now it looks like they're in an art gallery!
