Ulitmate Doctor Who: Season 12
Tom Baker arrives as the Doctor, and we're off into outer space for a new season. New companion Harry is dragged along with the Doctor and sarah to face Wirrn, Sontarans, Daleks and Cybermen. There's a tougher feel the series, more emphasis on bodily horror than ever before and it was an instant hot with viewers at the time and fans ever since.
But which story is your favourite?

Another tough choice. I still love Revenge Of The Cybermen. Although there is a lot of nostalgia for that thanks to BBC Video. And I also remember the double VHS of The Sontaran Experiment and Genesis Of The Daleks.
That said though, I still went for The Ark In Space. If only for the days when you had entire first episodes based around the main cast exploring with only a few pre-recorded voice overs from doors and computer terminals to break the tension.

Sorry to be unpredictable, but Genesis of the Daleks.

My head said Genesis but my heart said Robot.
There's a DVD I'm definitely picking up next time I'm home!Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Well, it would have to be Genesis of the Daleks wouldn't it. One of the best stories in the show's history, which introduced us to Davros for the first time. No wonder it comes out top on most polls.

"I stepped from the TARDIS onto a bleak planet. All around the ground was ravaged, no vegetation, banks of chilling fog swirling through the air. Why had I been brought here?"
Genesis of the Daleks without a doubt.

Ark* without a second thought. Genesis is a close second.
*One of my all time favourites.

Genesis for me - iconic!
My favourite cliffhanger is the one at the end of side 1 of the BBC Record!

Best cliffhanger the show never actually had!

Ark & Genesis are both great stories. Ark in Space gets the nod.

Wonderful stories, each and every one, for many varied reasons. I suspect Genesis will get lots of votes, and despite familiarity threatening contempt, it's difficult to argue that it is anything other than near-perfect Who. However, Ark is just brilliant, setting the tone for the Hinchcliffe era from the word go, and I have lots of affection for it, so it's getting my vote.

They're all great, and they're all winners (except for the four losers when the poll closes, obviously). But I'm going, on the grounds that this is enjoyment over excellence, for The Sontaran Experiment. Even more than the all-VT Robot, there's a real joy to its brightly-lit exterior setting. And I guess there's also a bit of nostalgia for Christmas Day 1991 when I first saw it.
Actually, no I'm not - much as I love TSExperiment, I have to go for Genesis because, although sometimes we get blasé enough to forget the fact, it really is one of the great Whos of all time.

I do love Ark, but I'm besotted with Genesis - Who perfection

Ark easily for me, like Tim this is one of my all-time favourites. I've always thought Genesis to be over-rated. Good, but not the classic everyone else thinks it is.
