Default The Night of the Doctor: Out now *Spoilers* WARNING STAY AWAY FROM INTERNET UNTIL SEEN!

Red Button special coming on Friday night!

After a bumper weekend of Doctor Who 50th anniversary trailers, more details have emerged about a spin-off mini episode, called The Night of the Doctor.

A BBC source has confirmed that the extra anniversary minisode will be available on their Red Button service and fans will be able to watch it from Saturday 16 November.

Freeview's listings currently describe the episode as: "The 50th Anniversary features Matt Smith, David Tennant and a mysterious incarnation played by John Hurt.

"Only one appears in this mini episode, The Night Of The Doctor. But which?"

The mini episode, which runs for 6 minutes and 54 seconds, has been classified PG by The British Board of Film Classification.

Their reasoning is that: "There are scenes of mild violence, including attacks on a city and its residents, as well as scenes of threat from attacking forces."

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Wasn't there a flashing red button in The Light At The End? Could be a clue... or almost certainly not.

Surely everyone has the red button by now or access to YouTube, so hopefully you'll all be able to see this.

    Not in Qatar though.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Here's a pic from the minisode:

It's not The Sisterhood of Karn is it?

I wonder if that 'Sisterhood' have a soothsayer? If so then watch out Jenna, you could be replaced soon.

Steve, maybe you could skype someone watching it and they could point the device towards the screen.

    It's out a day earlier. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/11/...-already-here/

Saying nothing until others watch it. And not in a "Well whatever you say I'll go along with" but more "You are going to freak! You are going to freak!" sort of way!

McGann was brilliant wasn't he? Shame there wasn't more of it.
So what do we think? Was it a good way for him to go?
And as he mentions his Big Finish companions, does that mean his Big Finish adventures are canon?

It was written by Moffat which means it happened in the new series universe so yes the 8th Doctor and his audio companions are officially new series canon.

Brilliant does anyone think that it's possible that McGann could appear in the 50th anniversary special itself?

I knew, but that didn't make it any the less exciting - more so in fact. If only Paul had been the Doctor on TV for a while longer... Nice bit of 'scene-setting' for the special, but also a real delight in its own right. And "The front crashes first, think it through" - classic!

Well! That answers a few questions, doesn't it! Great to see Paul on-screen again.
