Ultimate Doctor Who: The Movies!

Aha!

You thought there was no easy out of the TV Movie conundrum, didn't you? Well, there is.

Over the years there have been four Doctor Who movies- two with Peter Cushing in the 60s, The Five Doctors (which is a TV Movie in all abut name- it was made outside of the usual production of the show and had extra money provided by ABC in Australia) and of course the dear old TV Movie made by Universal for the BBC/ Fox in 1996.

But which of these was your favourite?

Hmmmm.... It's hard to think of The Five Doctors as a separate movie entity. Normally I'd vote for it, but in this context, and because it'll probably be a whitewash, I'm giving my vote to the thoroughly enjoyable Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150AD.

I've voted for the Five Doctors...but ONLY because it wasn't in the seasons list. I don't consider it a movie (TV or otherwise).

I feel bad for not voting for 5D, but the TVM was so influential in (a) Keeping DW alive and (b) Providing such an excellent 8th Doctor to live on in audio, book and comic strip.

It ought to be a landslide for The Five Doctors.... but because I can't quite bring myself to think of it as a movie, and because for all its faults I genuinely love the TV Movie and enjoy it every time I see it, I'm going for the exciting adventure in which the man who was with Puccini when he died comes back to life...
