    Which version of The Sweeney theme is better - is it the exciting 'Bom-bada-bom!' of the opening titles, or is it the laid back 'Waaaa-Waaawaaa' of the closing titles?

    As you might expect, i like 'em both. The end theme has that lovely lilting Soprano Sax which sounds so melancholic.
    But if i had to choose, it would be the action packed opening theme. It just says: 'Were The Sweeney!'. GUV!

    It's essentially the same theme isn't it? Just different arrangements. So as such I like them both but probably could listen to the closing one more often.

    Here's something on youtube. Both the opening titles, the one I like & the more weird ones.

    Well I voted for the opening theme, although they're both brilliant. Getting the audience all hyped up with a big exciting dramatic piece of music at the start of the programme, and then bringing them back down with a melancholy theme at the end is a work of genius.
