Christopher Barry has died.
Sad news, director of The Daleks, The Rescue, The Romans, The Savages, Power of the Daleks, The Daemons, The Mutants, Robot, Brain of Morbius and Creature from the Pit has died. One of the most prolific directors of the show, he helped shape two new Doctors, and directed some of the most loved stories.
RIP Christopher.
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

The Savages is magnificent and underrated. Thankfully, I don't think Chris was ever underrated by the fans, and rightly so!
Oooh, coconut macaroons!

He came across as a really lovely man in all the documentaries and whenever we saw him at signings etc. Very sad to see him go. RIP.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Aww, very sad news! He directed some classics, and ever those which aren't considered as classics still had something to offer. He had a good innings, though - born in 1925 I believe.
RIP Christopher.

Dad and I were only discussing Brain of Morbius yesterday, it was one of Dad's favourites.
RIP Christopher.

How sad. He always came across as highly knowledgeable of his profession, and the stories n which he worked, and seemed a true gentleman. One of the greats of 'Doctor Who' - rest in peace, Chris.

Very sad, I just saw this on Facebook. He's directed some of the most important stories (the original Dalek tale, the debut of the first new Doctor, Tom's first story) and also some of my real favourites (The Rescue, The Mutants, Creature from the Pit). And to cap it all off, he also directed The Daemons, one of the greatest Who stories of them all.
