The Greatest Show in the Galaxy
Ah what a pity all McCoy stories couldn’t have been like this! The Chief Clown is one of the most scary Who villains of all time.

Recently finished Terminus. After episode 1 it was a bit of a slog. Not a story where the 5th Doc really shined....

Talking of Steve Gallagher, I've been reading the production notes for Warriors' Gate 1-2. More interesting than the actual story...

I've watched very little Who recently...
...because I've discovered that Zel's 'Audible Unlimited' account includes all the now-very-expensive-on-eBay missing story audios, for free. That's, For Free. So I've been slowly catching up with stories that I really only know from their Target incarnations, and that probably 20-30 years ago.
Marco Polo was up first, and I'm currently 2/3 through The Abominable Snowmen (although I did of course watch part 2).

In The Troughton Years VHS, the Pert's delivery of "the struggle against Hitler" when talking of Pat's wartime service just makes one giggle. It makes one imagine Troughton physically struggling with Hitler personally...

The telesnaps for Episode 2 of The Savages reveal a distressing amount of Nanina's backside for a show broadcast at teatime: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/class...s/two/29.shtml
How come everyone who complains about Katy Manning's knicker-flashing have overlooked this?!

You've got to be a special kind of dedicated to get worked up into either an outrage or a hot flush staring at telesnaps!! It would be like getting over-stimulated by a courtroom sketch!

If The Seeds of Doom had been in Season 17, the Doctor wouldn't have tried to save Chase, he would have merrily started singing "Harrison Chase is in a jam! Hurry, hurry, Fireman Sam!".

You have to wonder why the Bandril Ambassador doesn't realise he has someone's hand up his arse... darn sockpuppet.

The Bandril ambassador is incredibly shy - he can only communicate via a sockpuppet! His wedding night was a hoot!

If I had written The Three Doctors:
TL President: "We are being consumed and we can find no way to fight back!"
TL Chancellor: "Maybe you should throw paper towels at the black hole?"

I always thought Susie Who (Cushing) was some sort of alien agent. No human little girl could be that irritatingly obnoxious.

DWM: One can't just fire on an unarmed man simply because he refuses an order to stop, which is what happened both to the Doctor himself in Spearhead from Space and the villainous Lupton in Planet of the Spiders. Indeed, had the Brigadier actually hit the fleeing Lupton in the latter story (fortunately, UNIT personnel are notoriously lousy shots) he would have quickly found himself being court-martially for murder.

They might have used the excuse that at the time, British soldiers could shoot at suspected
terrorists under certain circumstances. Mind you, since most of these circumstances meant you had to be in Northern Ireland, they could always fall back on the need to give the effects team something to do.

John Nathan-Turner hired his partner to be production manager in programmes filmed in Spain and Singapore.
Derrick Sherwin hired his wife to play a character in a programme filmed on a rat-infested rubbish tip.
Spot the difference.

And from "The Ark":
'"Say the following after me: 'The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.'" "Like heck it does," Dodo retorted. "The last time I was there, it bucketed down!"' - Dodo the Cockney 60s orphan makes regular trips to Spain?

Michael Gove? another four years of Trump?
The Leisure Hive. Some good ideas, but hit and miss in the execution - slow to begin with, then a little rushed at the end. The effects are generally good though.
