Default Deep Breath on the Big Screen!

So close you can feel his breath?

BBC Worldwide is delighted to announce that the first episode of Doctor Who Series 8 - Peter Capaldi’s debut season in the iconic role - will be screened in cinemas around the world from 23 August 2014.

This year’s screenings follow the success of the global cinema release of Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary episode The Day of the Doctor which was screened in over 1500 cinemas around the world, allowing fans to come together to watch the show like never before.

Doctor Who makes a spectacular return to the big screen in the feature-length premiere episode of Series 8; Deep Breath. Directed by acclaimed Director Ben Wheatley (Sightseers, A Field in England) and written by Lead Writer and Executive Producer Steven Moffat, the beginning of the Twelfth Doctor’s era stars Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, Jenna Coleman as his companion Clara Oswald and sees the return of fan favourites The Paternoster Gang - Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh), Jenny Flint (Catrin Stewart) and Strax (Dan Starkey) – in a pulse-racing adventure through Victorian London.

Steven Moffat comments, "Last November the Doctor didn't just conquer the world on television, he did it in the cinemas too. And like the show-off he is, he can't resist another go - one taste of the silver screen is never enough. On August 23rd the new Doctor will begin his new adventures on BBC One and in cinemas all over the world. Movie-land beware - Capaldi is coming to get you!"

Doctor Who: Deep Breath will be screened in participating cinemas around the world from 23 August, 2014. More information will be released by BBC Worldwide and participating cinema chains over the coming weeks. For all of the latest information please visit doctorwho.tv/watch/cinema. I'm hugely excited about this, I loved seeing the 50th anniversary at the cinema and can't wait to see Who on the big screen again

I'm fussy about noise when in the cinema so I didn't bother going to see the 50th on the big screen and doubt I will go to this either. I'll wait for an official movie and I feel that they are testing the water for that by showing this and the 50th in cinemas.
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

I went to see Day in the cinema, and a fantastic viewing experience it was, marred only by one dickhead and one or two loner idiots in dickie bows and fezes whooping at any fanwank that crept in.

I supported it because, well, a) I wanted to see it on the big screen (3D and all), and b) because I like the idea that those remarkable viewing figures would inspire a Gaiman written Jackson directed movie. I still do.

I am unlikely to go and see this one though. I'm not yet inspired, Daleks bore me silly, and I'd rather see Capaldi in the role before shelling out twenty quid at the cinema. A season finale may have been a better bet.

On another forum someone said they'd seen the workprint at a friends and he said it was tedious and he won't bother watching it on TV. Mind you he hates Who so I won't bother listening to what the prick says

I have never understood why trolls and other eejits feel the need to watch things they already decided they don't like for the sole purpose of spoiling things for others.

I'll be honest, I'm not really anticipating greatness from it, but I shall still be watching it with hopes for something special. Just not at the cinema.

The Doctor said to ask if you needed any grenades.

    He might have said help.

As tempted as might be to throw a grenade at this person I was thinking more in the way of arguments about the merits of Doctor Who

He's gone and peddled this crap

Well, the fact that he (Cappo) thinks he's been regenerated as a female and spends most of the episode prancing about in a frock was a bit shit.
And then that new bang-tidy bit of skirt (forget her name) is killed off within ten minutes only to be replaced by that Rose character only compounded the whole thing.

They do it because people bite.
The best thing to do with naughty trolls is ignore them.
Well beat them to a bloody convulsing pulp and then ignore their twitching limbs, but the ignoring bit is crucial.

Beating them up is quite fun though, you have to admit!
