We have a worthy winner here with one of the earliest ever. I've always felt that the original TARDIS team was one of the strongest the series has ever had, despite some poor writing at times for Susan. There were a few great companions during the 60s but Ian and Barbara took some beating, imo.

My second favourite choice.
Ian, Barbara and Vicki were my favourite '60s companion combination. Susan always got on my nerves though. I thought Carole Ann Ford was rubbish, frankly. I agree Ian and Barbara came as a team, but Babs is my favourite because I thought Jackie Hill conveyed a broader range of emotions than Ian, and of the three, I think she would've made the best and most interesting sole companion.
Also, I never quite understood Jamie's popularity. Such a one-dimensional character, and I always found Frazer Hines' acting stilted and unconvincing.

Yay for Ian!
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.
