    R.I.P. Anthony Read.

Took the unenviable job of following script editor Robert Holmes and kept the stories running along smoothly.
And Doctor Who was but one of his writing jobs. He also wrote the charming Adventure 5 for Sapphire & Steel and was so good at that, it almost seemed like Steel not knowing how to pass the port was almost a cliffhanger when watching it!

Often overlooked between Holmes and Adams as script editors, but from his record (And even stuff he wrote) he more than held his own!

very sad news. He was a gentleman when we met him a few years and he script edited some of my favourite Who, and championed Douglas Adams when no-one else in the BBC would. For that he deserves great kudos.

    RIP Anthony.

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

He always seemed to be a kind man who cared about what he was doing - someone we need more of these days!
