I've been trying to play an online game of Football Manager 2007, but the host of the game's computer was a little bit slow and the game was taking forever.

Its funny I'm not a football fan at all but I love football manager games. I dunno why. Maybe its all the stats.

I know a lot of football fans who don't understand why I like Football Management games so much. They prefer to be actually playing in the match instead of (as they see it) looking at nothing but a lot of statistics.

Personally, I like the match play football games like Fifa or Pro-Evolution Soccer, but once you get a system in place that works, it does start to get a bit too easy, and let's face it, if you can beat Brazil 4-0 where do you go next for a challenge?

The Football Management games use a lot of statistics, but I like working on other things like tactics, team and player instructions and trawling the transfer market for the right player to win me the league. It's a long process, but I do enjoy it a lot. I just wish I could win something with Spurs for a change. According to SI Games forum, Spurs are meant to be a fairly easy team to win the Premiership with, fourth is the best I've managed with them.

My best result has been when managing the hated Gooners. I won the League and Champions League in one season, maybe I should try to get them relegated next time.

Just a suggestion, but why not change the thread title to "...video games" instead of computer to make it more inclusive. Why have seperate threads...

I've played 007: Everything or Nothing on the Gamecube earlier today, and I'll probably play Grand Theft Auto III on the PC when I am done here since the kids have the TV now... (They're watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey Saves Santa" for the third or fourth time now...

I made it to the final stage of Everything or Nothing last night. I read somewhere that this stage is supposed to be pretty difficult. I only attempted it a few times so far though...

think 96 levels is right, some of the levels had multiple exits and if you managed to use all of the exits the color palatte of the game changed...

That definitely rings a bell...It worries me sometimes how bad my memory is somedays...!

I beat 007: Everything or Nothing the night of my last post. Haven't been playing too much lately. Grand Theft Auto III on the PC and Metroid on the NES are what is currently on the plate when I find time to play again. And Mario Kart: Double Dash on the GC every now and then...

I'll be playing Battle for Wesnoth, a cross-platform, free, online multiplayer tactics game. (Tactics means 2D, old skool, yo).

I'm also a tad bit obsessed with SuperTux. It's also cross platform, and it's like Super Mario except with Tux (you know the penguin for linux).

Both games consume my soul. I like itty bitty games that I can put down when I remember that I left my cat in the fridge or something.

Okay, in the last week I've been playing: Colin McRae DiRT, Mass Effect, The Darkness, Stranglehold, Scene It: Lights Camera Action and Forza Motorsport 2 on the Xbox 360.

Looking forward to GTA IV (which would have been out already if it wasn't for Sony ...) and Bully: Scholarship Edition.

I used to use the phrase computer games when talking about games for the Spectrum, C64, Amiga, etc. But since I've joined the console generation and got a PlayStation, then a PS2, Xbox and XBox 360, I've started calling them video games to avoid confusion, but to me they're still computer games too. But I play video games on the PC and in the arcade too (computer games and arcade games maybe?)

Finally got round to getting The Orange Box yesterday... found myself staying up until nearly 3am working through all of Portal! (Luckily I've got today and tomorrow of work, so I kinda "let myself" stay up that long ). I've been working on Half Life 2 Episode One today and think I'm about halfway through... sadly it seems to be having issues with my graphics card - I had to tone it a fair bit down from the settings it recommended for my comp, and keeps crashing when trying to load the area I've got up to.

Oh yeah, I'm also doing the Wii Sports fitness test on a nearly daily basis. At present, it says I'm 34 and have been around the 20-40 area for the last week or so.

Bear in mind I put this together a year ago... back then it was "powerful but affordable", and I think it cost me around £500-600 to put together (ordering most if not all of the parts from http://scan.co.uk).

MOTHERBOARD: Asus P5B-Deluxe
PROCESSOR: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (2x 1.86GHz)
POWER SUPPLY: Forget what make, but off the top of my head it's 500W.
RAM: 1GB DDR
GRAPHICS: 256MB XFX 7600GT
HARD DISK: 320GB SATA Drive (this is my main disk - I've also got a couple of extra IDE disks for more storage, and a 400GB external disk for backups)

Generally speaking, HL2 chose medium to high settings as the recommended graphic settings for my system. When I initially started playing Episode One, it crashed when trying to start a new game, but I was able to get it going after changing all of these to medium to low settings.
