This is going to be close...it just depends who gets in to vote first today! Either one of these two would be a worthy winner of this round. For what it's worth, personally I think that in a straight fight, original Trek just edges out Doctor Who from the same period. Unfortunately I was distracted a bit by other things at the weekend and forgot to vote a few days...

I was torn, that's why I gave a vote for each.
When you look at how ground-breaking the original Star Trek was, and the impact that it's had over the decades, It's a shame that it's had to lose its chance to be represented in a presumed finale of all the winners of future rounds.
Having said that, in a straight 'Dersert Island' type choice, my heart lies with Dr Who, even if it is just the 60's part.
I think Trek will ultimately end up being represented by TNG. Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything else from the 80's that might give it any trouble. Apart from Dr Who of course.

I'm of much the same opinion, Wayne. There's really not much seperating 60s Who and Star Trek, I love them both. It's just that, given this is a DW forum, it would have been nice to see an underdog win!
No complaints though, particularly as my own late missed votes ultimately made the difference!
Having seen the series list I've compiled so far for the 80s, it's hard to see anything other than TNG winning when you see some of the competition (unlike the 70s when the list could easily have stretched to 20 series)...and the whole TNG run will be featured as an 80s series btw, even though the majority aired in the 90s. There's enough Trek for the 90s with DS9 and Voyager as it is!
