DW making history more palatable
Outside of DW, this sort of thing has irritated me since Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman, where "Doctor Mike" and her children were people from 1993 in the 19th Century.
Leaving out Classic Who, which had its moments (such as leaving out the Aztecs mass human sacrifice of children)...
"The Unquiet Dead" and Rose barging into Victorian England and starting 21st century consciousness raising without the slightest regard for Gwyneth and Sneed's different circumstances.
"Thin Ice", where the Doctor will get a sore hand if he punches everyone in that time who shares Sutcliffe's racial views.
