I still have all the covers...I couldn't bring myself to throw them out as I got DVD replacements. Space was a big issue...as well as DW, I had loads of ITC videos, and almost complete sets of Star Trek and TNG...over 100 videos there alone! Ironically, most of the DW stuff I still have on VHS is home recordings of the BSB Doctor Who weekend, and early UK Gold repeats...not quite the same quality as official releases but more sentimental value attached

Today, we have the return of the Daleks in The Chase...the edition I had (/possibly still have) came in a tin paired with Remembrance. The tin has long been used for other things, though...

Of course, there are loads of episodes missing from Season 3 so the earliest story released on VHS was...

Yes, the 2nd one not only looks better but actually looks more professional. The official one looks like a fan cover.

Same here. I still have the complete set of VHS tapes all boxed up in the loft. When we moved house, four years ago, I just couldn't throw them out despite ditching all my old movies.
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

    Sigh
No VHS copies exist. Oh, Day of the Daleks original issue.
See... I drifted off from Who during the ear!y nineties. The TVM was nice but I'd felt I was done. I had foolishly agreed to record every single damn UK Gold for a friend.
Anyway rambling I... Sold a few if not all day after New Labour got in.
Well that was wise. Might have already mentioned this! Anyway, this is a great thread to read.
I never had them all but said friend eventually did and yes, call the VHS look beautiful in a big TARDIS box!
And then they bought out the DVD...
I have some DVD (boxes mainly) of the show however!
Broke promise not to post to interrupt flow of thread but it turned conversational so...
    Keep the covers coming!

The Smugglers sadly is among the missing episodes, and so obviously has never been released. I like this fan cover, though!

And we reach the end of the First Doctor era now, with the release of the incomplete Tenth Planet...

Here's an alternative for you, as always in the style of the classic diamond logo design...

Now that fan cover is what the BBC should have produced. The official one is bland.

As we reach the second Doctor, as we know in the age of these VHS releases large chunks of Troughton's era were (and, of course, still are) missing and so there was no BBC release. So, having enjoyed seeing the fan cover alternatives to some of the official releases I'll feature a few of these to fill in the missing stories - and maybe even go back to the missing Hartnells at some point.

So here are a few fan covers for the non-existent 2nd Doctor releases from Season 4...

Oh yes. The Hong Kong find of the century. This was, quite rightly, a huge deal.

Also a really nice dark cover with the silver lettering. Love it.

I never wrote off, but when did the back of the videos start advertising DWAS?
I can see from the 2000's they stopped. (Or did they?)
Tomb of the Cybermen recovery was amazing to read and buy.
