She'll need to quit before she dies on-screen (probably within the next eighteen months). They should've punted her about five years ago.

In truth, she's been semi-present for a few years now. I would kill her off, it would be a natural end for the character. I can't see how they're going to write her out open-endedly without splitting up Jack and Vera which would be wrong. I'm hoping she'll have to be put in a home, forcing their tragic seperation but leaving the way clear for them to wheel her back on set every few years.

My Dad caught an episode a few years ago with her in and commented "is that a man in drag?"

I'm sorry she's leaving because of ill health and 34 years is a great stint but I have to say I've never liked the character very much and I think her performance has been awful for many years with her often stumbling lines. Vera has always been too much of an old bag to me with very little to like about her. Jack should have left her ages ago. Her leaving should give Bill Tarmey some good storylines. Maybe a new girlfriend or the return of "our Tommy" and Dicken Ashworth.

The David Platt thing on the roof was all a bit naff, i thought. I found it all a bit silly & unconvincing.

    I will be now!

When was that? Been watching it more frequently recently, but missed that little gem. Tina O'Brien is still looking hot too.

I preferred her as a goth!

Just noticed your latest avatar, I take it that's to do with your Dracula thread? I just picked up the Lugosi/Karloff dvds of Black Cat & The Raven yesterday.

Yep, I'm going through all the Dracula movies.
I've never seen either of those two, But MacNimon reviewed 'The Black Cat' on the 'Don't Watch Alone' thread, a week or so back.

Blimey! Which one's that? 'Soophie' or 'Roosie'? She's grown up a bit, hasn't she!?

I tell yer something else, Debbie from 'Emmerdale' is looking good lately, too!

Anyway, back on-topic - I actually watched two consecutive episodes this week - forgot that Sinbad was in it now. Good to see him having it out with Gail. Her son's a nutter!

It's the eldest one, Rosie. The actress is a couple of years older in 'real life', so it's ok to perv.

Plenty of nice Jack P. Shepherd action lately.

Where's Deidre and Blanche though? They haven't been in it for months!

Sterling performances from Helen Worth too!

I don't like the Hayley storyline though, as I've read what happens and it's horrid.

Harkishin has reached yet another new level of acting recently. He now seems to be ad-libbing all of his lines.

Wayne, Steve and Dave will be pleased:

Corrie insists on short skirt for Flanagan

"The gold mini was virtually a pelmet, just covering her bum. It certainly made an impact for the storyline."

Pity they don't put as much effort into getting her fake posh accent sorted out!

Bugger. I missed the double Corrie on Monday, due to being unexpectedly out for the whole night & didn't set the timer to record it.
I thought i'd watch it yesterday morning on ITV2, but it was Sunday's hour long ep that they showed. By that logic you'd think they'd be showing Monday's eps today, but it's only on for half an hour, with another half hour ep tomorrow, which i assume will the second of Monday night's eps. If that's the case, it means that i'll have to record tonights ITV showing, & wait to watch it after tomorrow's repeat of Monday's second ep. ITV2 don't half shcedule their repeats strangely! I'll have to wait 'til 12.30 to see if i'm right.
