    Default Doctor Who Confidential

Where's the thread for this 40 minute smugfest?

Looke like some excellent FX shots in the Series Three preview at the end.

Default Doctor Who Confidential - Series 3

We don't seem to have one, and we'll certainly need one, so here is the place to discuss the new, longer, series of DW Confidential. Enjoy it? Hate it? What say you?

I've already set one up, oh cheeky one.

And now, by the power invested in me, I shall "do a Judoon" and transport your thread onto the other confidential thread.

I take it back, it looks like Mr M Tears started his thread first. Darn darn darn.

So anyway, what does anybody think of it?

One minute later is not good enough, Mr Curnow.

Pip would've managed to beat me by at least thirty seconds.

Some kind of joke about going back in time and waving my tie at you here would be appropriate now.

It was good. I like the longer running time, which allows even more in-depth stuff.

And more to miss out when they release it on DVD.

I didn't see it, but I think my brother has taped it, so I'll have to borrow his copy.

I got round to watching it earlier today, and although I enjoyed it, I think the bits about Martha went on for just a little too long... it was refreshing to hear from new contributors though, and the press launch footage looked quite exciting. Also, the new clips from later in the series made me smile - the air car sequences in 'Gridlock' look more impressive than they did in the series trailer.

Some good bits in the preview of next week's 'Confidential'.

Next week's episode looks like a load of old w*nk (Miranda Raison's woeful accent has already destroyed the whole series for me), but still not as bad as that clip of 'The Macra Terror'. Looks like they just roam about in the frikkin' dark surviving on gas and grabbing stuff at random. What kind of piss-poor monster is that? They don't do much. It's a bloody waste!

I award half a touch. At least they were more central to the story.

We missed last nights as the DVD recorder decided to record the picture without any sound. Grrrr.

That occasionally happens with my Sky box on UKGold, I'll leave it on to tape a Dr Who omnibus and when I get up in the morning to check it, there's no sound. Really annoying.

Did they reveal whether the Macra still cost the same as a Mini?
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I've recorded tonight's, but didn't have the urge to watch it for some reason. I'm enjoying the episodes a lot this year, and don't particularly want to see the making of them straightaway. Am I losing touch with the anorak side of my nature?

I found it very dull this week, it was basically just a retread of last weeks episode. They didn't even talk about the Daleks or human Sec, which was odd.

Agreed. They seemed to focus a lot more on the behind the scenes details, but didn't really talk about the plot or characters or the way the story evolved. It was a bit bland.

Bloody boring really. More NewYork filming chat. More talk about finding a wall that matched the Statue of Liberty base (even though it doesn't).

Did I miss much? I collapsed after my blood boiled over during RTD's "BRILLIANT!" in the pre-credits sequence.

I'm in total agreement. Confidential's just become paralysingly dull, boring and tedious. 45 minutes is way too long to be watching people set up green screen shots and setting up explosions. I don't watch it straight after Who anymore, I leave it taping and skip through for interesting bits later (such as Tennant jokingly whining to Collinson about not getting to go to Manhattan). Perhaps in future years, we might appreciate it more.

And yes, RTD's like a stuck record... it's not the enjoyable show it was in 2005.

They even repeated some footage from last weeks this episode, and they barely seemed to have any interviews with the actors. Arent the versions shown on Sunday only 30 minutes?

    Fifteen minutes. Which sounds better.
